Has anyone ever thought about hiring an actual comedian to help you write your strip?

I’ve been doing just that recently.

[My] writing… is not very good at all and I obviously need to change something in order to attract a larger audience.

Having administered several years’ worth of Hot Seat critiques, I’m surprised this topic doesn’t come up more often. But since it has — and since my answer turned into a much longer conversation — I wanted to write about it here.
