Marketing to people who read comic strips
This is something I come across quite often. Either a webcartoonist will tell me that they’re trying to find where readers of comic strips congregate on the Web or they’re designing an ad that touts the fact that it’s a comic strip. In fact, recently in the forum, a member was arguing in favor of publishing his comic on a comics aggregator site because he could “access a large audience of people that read comic strips.”
I think that this is problematic thinking — for two reasons.
