Mailbag: Finding a Colorist
My comic looks pretty good in color and I enjoy doing it. But frankly it’s just too much for me to handle even though I’m only doing the comic twice a week in color. I want to do it three times a week, but just can’t. I would rather follow after the idea of Girl Genius and Evil Inc and do the comic in black-and-white line art and then work with a colorist. But how to go about doing that? I have no money to pay a colorist. How do a find a good one when I can’t pay? Would it be better, since I have no money, to just do it in black-and-white and then — if and when I can afford a colorist –have someone color all the pages? Since you’ve been working with a great colorist, any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gerhard Bahnsen
