Don’t quit those “marketing ploys” just yet…
So, there’s a piece going around Facebook right now:
…and it has some webcomics people clucking their tongues and insisting that it applies to us, too.
I think they’re sending the wrong message — for bands and for webcomics. Worse yet, the advice I see some well-meaning webcartoonists offering instead is not only counter-productive, but it’s the kind of thinking that prevents (or delays) new webcartoonists from transitioning into professionals.
So let’s talk about the post, let’s debunk the bad advice, and let’s discuss some real strategies for effective promotion.
