I apologize for the confusion. Here’s the complete explanation.
In short, you’re going to get an e-mail saying your automatic payment to Webcomics.com has been cancelled. That’s simply a by-product of our moving to a new system.
If your last subscription payment was made under the old site, your expiration date was honored. You will, however, be required to re-subscribe with the new site.
That’s a good question though… How *do* you include your transcript in the blog if you’re using Comic Easel?
@ Marjorie: I encourage you to put your comic’s URL in your forum signature.
You do this by clicking your name under your avatar and then clicking edit.
Scroll alllll the way down until you get to Forum Signature.
You’re welcome to put a hyperlink your comic in that space, but you have to use BBCodes to do so.
In this case, it’s as simple as [ url = http://www.domain.com ] Comic title [ / url ] (just remove all of those extra spaces/)
I’d like to make a request that we keep the forum signatures to a simple hyperlinked title of the comic. It gets awfully tedious reading all of those taglines and pitches when a user is trying to get useful information out of a forum thread.
I do have the ability to go in and make the changes if individual users won’t…. (and I reserve the right to do so!)
I don’t have any direct experience with Manga+Press. Let me ask around and see if I can find someone who can help!
In general, though… if there’s no documentation to the CMS you’re using, is it realistic to consider switching to a better-supported CMS (like ComicsPress or Comic Easel)?
If you’ve got years of updates under Manga+Press, then I understand… you probably feel as if it’s going to be more trouble to switch than to slug it out. but if it’s doable, the right answer might be for you to switch to a better CMS.
That doesn’t mean I’m not going to look for someone who knows a little about Manga+Press, though…
