If it doesn’t fit your work, change it so it does.
You’re not a newspaper — no one is going to hold you to the accuracy of your quotes.
But if you were concerned about it, you can always put in in square brackets.
“…kick technology’s [butt].”
… or do the old @$$

Brad GuigarKeymasterThank you — everybody — for hanging in there thru these bug-squashing episodes … and for your constructive criticism. It is very, very much appreciated!
Brad GuigarKeymasterLeave it to Frumph. He had it figured out in 10 seconds flat. Your comment will work now or I’ll eat my hat. π
Brad GuigarKeymasterOK, I’ve just altered the Comments setting. Please try again and see if that does the trick. π
Brad GuigarKeymasterWordPress is making me approve each user’s first comment. Then all comments are approved after that. But I don’t see your in the queue for approval. Might explain why there hasn’t been many comments…
Brad GuigarKeymasterFrumph turned me on to this one, and I love it. We’re using it on this site, and I’m trying to implement it on Evil Inc (although I think it’s conflicted with an other plug-in).
So… you know how WordPress just arbitrarily crops your comics and other images for thumbnails? Not with this little baby. You set the crops. It appears as a hyperlink under the Featured Image after you upload a featured image.
Oh! And Jetpack is a must-have…
Brad GuigarKeymasterAs for your first question, there are actually *two* places for you to do a little site-approved self-promotion.
Forum signature
The first is in your Forum Signature.
You do this by clicking your name under your avatar and then clicking edit.
Scroll alllll the way down until you get to Forum Signature.
Youβre welcome to put a hyperlink your comic in that space, but you have to use BBCodes to do so.
In this case, itβs as simple as Comic title
Iβd like to make a request that we keep the forum signatures to a simple hyperlinked title of the comic. It gets awfully tedious reading all of those taglines and pitches when a user is trying to get useful information out of a forum thread.
Webcomics List
And the second, as Frumph points out, is the Webcomics List, where you’re encouraged to not only build an entire page promoting your stuff, but you can easily link to your own Web site, Twitter feed, etc.
As for your second question: Webcomics.com is not offering hosting.
Finally… the Search doesn’t work? It’s working for me. Is anyone else experiencing a problem with the Search?

Brad GuigarKeymasterYeah, here’s the deal with the Comics page. I’m cool with anyone uploading images into that — as long as they file it with a chapter name. That’s pretty much so it doesn’t turn into a jumble of unrelated stuff. One example would be the Motivational Sketches (which I’m about to post formally tomorrow). Another would be the “My First Comic” chapter. And, as Phil mentioned, one for studio tours.
Then we can point members to the chapters and enjoy the images.
So… for the next motivational sketch phrase. Does anyone have any suggestions?
And, while I’m at it, does anyone want to design a Motivational Sketches logo?

Brad GuigarKeymasterUpdated! π
Brad GuigarKeymaster@TheJoe: We removed that feature. The FAQ has been updated.
Brad GuigarKeymasterHi Michael,
I apologize for the confusion. Here’s the complete explanation.
In short, you’re going to get an e-mail saying your automatic payment to Webcomics.com has been cancelled. That’s simply a by-product of our moving to a new system.
If your last subscription payment was made under the old site, your expiration date was honored. You will, however, be required to re-subscribe with the new site.
Brad GuigarKeymasterThat’s a good question though… How *do* you include your transcript in the blog if you’re using Comic Easel?
Brad GuigarKeymaster@Stahlberg: I don’t think there’s a privacy conflict there. If you’d like, please feel free to duplicate the information here in case another member has a similar question. π
Brad GuigarKeymaster@Marjorie: This archive post on basic HTML codes is still relevant.
Also, in the forums, you’re free to use BBCodes, which are quite elegant, too.
Brad GuigarKeymaster@Jamie: Thank you! Is it fixed now?
