Charlie BoatnerParticipant
Good, glad to finally see it! I think the pixel art doesn’t allow much expression … one reason #55 is funny (I laughed at the office) is because worm’s mouth is visible when he yells. (And because the gag makes use of the heroes’ smallness and vulnerability.)
But you’re an excellent, funny artist, so I have to prefer the strips that you draw.
Charlie BoatnerParticipantThe art is extreme, goofy, and charming. I especially like Becky with her tongue sticking out.
Charlie BoatnerParticipantWell Bug & Worm has been down for days, so I can’t comment on it. “Drawing it Up” has some wonderfully loose drawing and the tiny animations are unique and funny, but I prefer “Lizardmin,” maybe because it suggests a larger world of Lizardmin, Gorillamin, Octopoids, adults, children, warriors and scientists. I love the whole Dilbert-meets-King-Kull vibe. “Drawing” doesn’t seem to have a backstory. Is there room to grow?
Charlie BoatnerParticipantSpace Ghost was funny when it began because it took the characters from a Boomer show and forced them into an unexpected “mature” talk show context. But it’s already been imitated to death.
What problem are you trying to fix? Lizardmin is the funniest webstrip I’ve found in weeks.
Charlie BoatnerParticipantI found a list of rates that Frumph used to charge. We have to take into account inflation since 2010 and the fact that he stopped doing it (describes himself as currently not available to be hired).
I wonder what “Simple” and “Advanced” site design covered?
Charlie BoatnerParticipantI’m reading everyone’s posts with interest. Everything’s relevant to my question, thanks!
Charlie BoatnerParticipantThank you, Allen and Clay! When you mention an out-of-the-box solution, are you referring to (1) a free-managed hosting solution, (2) something like WordPress with Comic Easel, or (3) something else?
P.S. Lizardmin and Danish are both very funny!
Charlie BoatnerParticipantI’m convinced, thanks!
Charlie BoatnerParticipantThank you for the clarifications! I’m finding digital art non-intuitive and slow-going. At least with physical zip-a-tone, my only concern was cutting my thumb off!
